Mike Bryon is an expert in psychometrics and training solutions. Work through his books and excel in employer's tests and assessments
You are certain to face a psychometric test at some stage in your career. Examples include numerical tests, graduate ability tests, tests of your verbal reasoning, online assessments and assessments of work related competencies, diagrammatic reasoning, problem solving and data interpretation tests, firefighter and British army entrance tests, civil service and management assessments, UKCAT, GMIB, GMAT and personality questionnaires. Most, especially tests of graduate ability and management assessments, are made up of a series of sub-tests and can involve multiple choice questionnaires of your working style, assessments of your work-related abilities, especially your numerical or verbal reasoning abilities, written assignments, group discussions or presentations.
Review extracts...
"...the only one I found whose level of difficulty reflected that of the actual tests."
"...really helped me to improve my scores, and eventually pass!"
"...essential information to help students looking for jobs and placements."
"...what more could you want!"
You have to pass these tests!
Once employers have established that you have satisfied the minimum requirements for the post they then investigate your abilities in, for example, dealing with problems, working within a team, prioritizing your work, or motivating others, and they use psychometric tests to do this. You may be asked to sit online assessments or tests of your graduate ability or work based competencies. Many also require you to sit a series of ability tests that assess your command of key competencies, especially your numerical, diagrammatic and verbal reasoning skills. Finally they may require you to attend an assessment centre where you are subjected to more tests.
Use Mike Bryon's books to get ahead of the crowd of other applicants
Psychometric tests, including the UKCAT, GMAT, GMIB, numerical and verbal reasoning tests, the firefighter and British army tests and civil service assessments, are not like blood tests and a matter of rolling up your sleeve. They, like graduate ability tests and online management assessments and questionnaires, are only indicators of potential and you (the subject) have considerable influence over the outcome. This is good news because you can learn to do really well in them and thorough preparation can mean the difference between a pass and a fail.
